According to Wikinvest, "Cloud computing is a technology that uses the internet and central remote servers to maintain data and applications. Cloud computing allows consumers and businesses to use applications without installation and access their personal files at any computer with internet access. This technology allows for efficient computing by centralizing storage, memory, processing and bandwidth."

Hackingalert is an interesting blog that offers some solid information about cloud computing. Essentially the article discusses specifics such as the three main functions of cloud computing: Infrastructure-as-a-Service, Platform-as-a-Service, and Software-as-a-Service. Adding to this, cloud computing is sold on demand as the customer uses it.
But not everyone is on the same page. In this next video Frank Gillett the principle analyst for Forrester has some concerns about the frenzied hype that cloud computing is receiving.
Personally I think that cloud computing is where it is at! I might not understand all the ins and outs of the concept but what I do understand is the concepts value to the new model of doing business. It all seems like a logical step within the digital evolution.
